Fighters launched and fighters already in the air can shoot down inbound nukes. Fighters are nearly as fast as nukes and will repeatedly shoot at them.

I have used carrier based fighters to defeat an inbound nuke, and can stop about 1.75 nukes per fighter over the course of one fuel supply, provided that I use all the fuel of the 5 fighters. I will post a picture/video, currently working on timing the shots right. Namj13 02:25, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

Note from player!

I Have successfully taken out a nuke with a fighter. The rule seems to be that aircraft already flying can't target a nuke, but if you launch the aircraft at the nuclear weapon then it can be properly armed and thus can fire at the ICBM. I have seen it first hand and I know it can be done. My guess with Tomaz was that he didn't target the nuke directly from the airfield/carriers. Namj13 12:29, February 21, 2016 (UTC)

Toumaz's Test - with help from McLucky[]

Result: Not Possible

The test was made by having the two players in the same alliance, though with a undecleared cease fire for both.

All the fighters available were sent out to try to shoot down the nuke, which they failed to do.
